What we collect

MemeChess stores account identifiers, display names, avatars you choose, game history, ratings, meme favorites, and chat messages needed to run matches and sync progress. Guest sessions use a temporary player ID stored in your browser.

How we use it

We use this data to operate matchmaking, game servers, meme reactions, and optional sign-in providers. We do not sell personal data.

Sign-in providers

When you sign in with Telegram or Google, we receive profile information from that provider (such as name, username, avatar, and provider user ID) to create or link your MemeChess account. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

Earn program: clips and social accounts

If you join the Earn program and submit a link to a clip you posted on YouTube or TikTok, we store the link, the platform's video ID, the channel name or handle shown on the post, and the public statistics of that video (view and like counts, title, description, publish date and duration) together with snapshots of those numbers over time. We use them only to check the clip follows the program rules, to count views and to credit coins, and to detect fraud.

If you connect a TikTok account (when available), we receive your TikTok account ID (open_id), display name and handle, and access tokens with the user.info.basic and video.list scopes, which let us read the list and public statistics of your own videos. Tokens are stored encrypted and are never used to post, comment or change anything on your account. You can disconnect at any time from the TikTok app settings or by contacting us, and we delete the stored tokens.

YouTube statistics are read through the YouTube API Services. By submitting a YouTube link you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google processes data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke MemeChess access to YouTube data at any time via Google security settings (MemeChess does not request access to your Google account for this feature; it only reads public video data).

Clip records and view snapshots are kept while your account is active and deleted together with your account.

Third-party services

MemeChess uses hosting (Railway), database (Supabase), optional analytics (Plausible), optional error monitoring (Sentry), meme content providers, and sign-in services under their own terms. Meme clips may be sourced from third-party libraries where enabled.

Analytics & cookies

We may use privacy-friendly analytics that does not use tracking cookies. Essential session data is stored locally in your browser for guest accounts and authentication.

Data retention

Registered account data is kept while your account is active. Guest session data may be removed after extended inactivity. Game records may be retained for ratings and history.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@memechess.io. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by applicable law.
